A touch of jealousy

I have a friend who lives in Canada and I repeatedly ask her to build a snowman and send me photos as there is no snow here...for the longest time I have been waiting...patiently.  Then this arrived!

Can you imagine my surprise and delight!  Even the little bears were thrilled and impressed.  I love it!  My friend is soooo clever.  Better than a snowman any day.  Thank you Bliz xxx

Product Review

I love gadgets.  I love tools.  I love any sort of thingy that will make my life easier and save me time.  I'm busy and most times I quilt it's after work and I'm a little tired...so if there is something that can help me feel less tired, save me time and make my quilting more enjoyable and easier, then I'm all in!

Enter this little beauty!  Oh my goodness!  How I lived and survived for so long before getting one I will never know.  I used it for the first time and fell immediately in love - hard core.  True.  This is one of the best things I have ever bought.
Olfa rotating cutting mat

I first time I saw one of these it was used here and I was blown away and went immediately to their shop and bought one.  If you live in Australia and want one, you can find them here.

I love it so much I'm considering buying the 17" - but for now I am smitten by the 12" and would be lost without it.  No more moving blocks to square them up, just place in on this little baby and turn it.
Brilliant!

Christmas present

This is the Christmas table runner I made for one of the teachers who worked with #3 this year.  I'm pleased with how it turned out, just a pity that this photo doesn't really show the free motion quilting I did on the green border (small stippling) and white border (loops).  I liked it so much, I had to make one for myself...

Monkeys

Please excuse the unswept floor, but sometimes housework takes a backseat to quilting.  This is a sock monkey quilt for a very special little man in my life - kid #3.  He loves all things Toy Story and monkey - go figure...Anyway when he saw the Spotlight catalogue with the sock monkey fabric, well there was no way I was getting out of not buying some and whipping up a little snuggler.

Magpie Quilt

I have been working on a quilt for a friend who just happens to be a Collingwood Magpie fan. He specifically asked for a black and white quilt. This was very hard for me to work on, considering I am a Geelong Cats fan.
None the less, I did persevere and it is all finished, ready for the trip to Canada, to its new home.

Bag lady

I am becoming known as a 'bag lady' in certain social circles when I talk about my latest projects.

Can I help it when there are so many gorgeous bag patterns available?  Love it.

Ali Foster Pleated Shoulder Bag

Sometimes surfing the net and having a look around brings you upon happy little surprises.  I happened upon these delightful bags and decided to purchase 2 of the patterns.  This one has a pleat at the front about 1/3 of the way down - sadly the photo doesn't really show the pleat but it is such a great bag!  It's roomy enough to fit a bunch of stuff in, but not too big that you can't find things.

This little gem will be coming on my trip to Canada in September.  Think I'll use it to house my knitting and my novel.
