Promised

Myself to keep up with it
and to not get behind.

That each month I would be on top of it...

I'm thinking that I might need to get a wriggle on.

There was a parcel waiting for me when I got home yesterday.

Inside was block 3.

I'm loving the colours and glad I chose
to do the "French" version.
I think it will look lovely in my new house...
one day.

And this is my progress on block 2.
Think I need to stitch more.
Wonder if it could stitch and teach???

House

It is getting closer...
I think we might be down to weeks now instead of months.
We have gas hooked up.

The tiling is almost completed.
This is the en suit and the space under the window
is where the free standing bath is going to go.
I do love a good bath!

This is the shower in the en suit.
We compromised on size a little to gain
a separate toilet.  It now means that the toilet
is actually in a room all by itself - as toilets should.

Just waiting on my special feature tiles for the niche.

Growth and Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day
to all the Mums out there;
those that have gone before us
and those that are yet to be.

This is the card that I received from my youngest - he has special needs.
For a long, long time he would
only ever use one colour when creating.
Now he has used 3 - that's growth for this kid.
I'm not sure why there is a devil on the card,
but he assures me that it is a picture of a devil.
Who cares - I love it!

So where ever you are and whoever you share your day with, enjoy.

I found...

A new shop on Etsy.

I am not being paid for this review
and it is my experience that I write from.

I figure we all need to find great people to buy fabric from
and we should share when we find them.
I found one.

The shop is called Stitcherina and is owned by Rina.
Let me tell you that she is lovely and very helpful.

Everything came beautifully wrapped and there was even
a couple of extra pieces as a thank you
(any free fabric is great fabric in my book).
Oh an a lovely hand written note - I love hand written notes.

I had found fabric heaven here with a
selection of Ruby fat quarters.

Then I found "it".
The rarest gem -
 Cotton Blossoms.

Rina has a wonderful variety of fabrics -
pre-cuts, kits and more.
She has a vareity of designers and there is something to
please everyone.

If you don't mind paying the little extra for shipping
then this shop is well worth the while of looking at.

Tell Rina I sent you - she's awfully nice!

Recently...

I have been able to add to my
Bonnie and Camille collection.

Instagram is a wonderful place,
especially when there are
destash sales.

I am thrilled with the arrival of my Cotton Blossoms jelly roll.
I've had some yardage for a little while but not a pre-cut.

So, what I want to know is...
is there such a thing as too much fabric?
And if there is, then how much, is too much?

Friday night through to Sunday

The weekend in a nutshell.
Boy it goes fast!
I stayed at school until late - waiting for baby bear #3
to get back from camp, so it was about 5:30 when we got home.
It wasn't until after dinner that I got some time for myself.

My Bonnie and Camille collection had grown,
with the addition of some Ruby.

Also a layer cake and some yardage of
Simple Abundance.
I love my postie...

I only managed a few rows on my cowl
and then prepared some of the EPP
for my Wagon Wheels quilt.
I haven't touched it for such a long time.

Here's one of 36 done.

Saturday morning was groceries and washing
and a few scraps.
Scraps always make such pretty photos.

My modern instabee block for April.
I had already made one, but wasn't happy with it,
so I made another one.
now my partner will get 2.

Sunday morning there was
some Insagram love for me when I woke up.
Have I mentioned how much I love Instagram?

There may have been a bag of these...

 Used while working on these...
yep almost report writing time.
(yes that is the remnants of an Easter bunny and a pile of fabric - it's motivation)

I then smashed out another one of these.

Prepared a few more EPP pieces.

and wondered when or if I will ever get it finished.

There was also some ironing, cleaning, baking,
driving a child to and from work, church and
an assortment of other things thrown in this weekend.

How was your weekend?

Needles and hook

Every year as the weather starts to cool,
I get the urge to create with wool.

This year is no different.
I have joined a site called Ravelry that offers
patterns for knitters and crocheters.
It is a treasure trove of goodness.

I am currently knitting myself a cowl with
an interesting yarn I bought at Spotlight.
I'm still not convinced it is going to sit right.
I think it will be very warm though.

I've been working on my Starburst blanket.
I'm putting the border on at the moment.
I'm just not sure how many rounds I will do
and how fancy or plain to keep it.

Oh and I made my lamb and vegetable soup.
It's delicious.

New Books

During first term I put myself into a voluntary
book buying ban, unless it was work related.

It wasn't as tough as I thought it was going to be.

Probably because I has pre-ordered a few books
so I knew that they were coming.

All 3 are excellent additions to my personal library.

They all have great colour pictures and well written text.
Of course they are full of ideas and I want to make
one of everything...yesterday!
