Sweetness

Someone very special bought me this for Christmas...oh how I L.O.V.E. that person...can't wait to crack it open!

I have been on a bit of a post Christmas spending binge...I have bought the following:

Snowman Table Runner Kit
kit for this snowman table runner

Christmas Tree Picture Iron On Label Kit
iron-on patch for next Christmas with our name on it

Word Circle Charm
a charm for next year's resolution

Mama's China Pattern
pattern and jelly roll to make this quilt

kit for this quilt - love it 'sigh'

pattern for this one

pattern for this one
one of these

and a few metres of Christmas fabrics that were half price...
I think I have done my bit for the economy.  I justify it by saying that one day i will retire and have endless abouts of time in which to quilt and probably not a whole lotta cash to splash on these things, so if I stockpile now I should be OK in about 20 years or so when I retire.

Working on it...

The day after Boxing Day I decided that the time was right to begin a project I have long wanted to do and have been looking at longingly for months now each time the next instalment arrive.

I'm working on block 1 of this:

This is what I'm up to at the moment:

So now I wonder how far I will get during the school holidays...

Christmas gifts

I am very lucky to work with some very lovely, supportive, funny and incredible ladies in my team.  I wanted to make them all something for Christmas this year and decided that I could whip up some of the aprons I did for the Mother's Day stall that were a hit.

As usual I was in such a rush to get them finished and wrapped and to work that I forgot to take photos of them all before I gave them away.  Thankfully Brenda was obliging and modelled for a picture and sent it to me.

She has not taken her apron off for 2 days - she wore it at work the day I gave it to her and then the next day while at home baking and preparing for Christmas.

It took her a while to figure out that it was adjustable and not for a very big necked person...thanks for the pic Bren and for being such a good sport!

Graduation

Oh boy am I the W.O.R.S.T. mother in the world...baby bear #2 graduated from Primary School on the 13/12/2012 and I'm only just now getting around to going through the photos.

Before we left - a very excited and nervous young lady...amazing what soap, water, a dress and a hairdresser can do!

At the church, waiting for the ceremony to start - butterflies building in her stomach...

She read with poise and grace.  I was blown away by how grown up she is...had a glimpse at her recent interview for Secondary School, she is becoming one cool, competent young lady...

Watching and listening as awards and certificates were handed out - never once being distracted by all the noise and clapping the successes of her fellow class mates.

At dinner - such a lovely creature, almost a little princess and I have to say that I loved her choice of hairdo.  It suited her dress - mind you that dress was below her knee when I bought it 6 weeks ago and now it is well above her knee.  Not the best time for a massive growth spurt, lol.

Hanging with her bestie before the dancing begins...

Dancing with her Dad, who could not get over how beautiful his little girl was or how amazing she is...we were both blown away by her.

A special Father-daughter moment...makes me think of what her wedding day may look like when they dance together...

Ah the Nutbush - it has driven me almost insane for the past few weeks, 'dance with me Mum; she would call, over and over and over and over...

A lovely photo of 2 normally wild girls who just looked gorgeous on the night!

A bit of a group shot but with only a handful of the kids and then like all good times, it was time to go home...

It's hard to believe that she has finished Primary School and is moving onto the next stage of her education.

Late blogger...

Well I have been a tad busy with the end of school and then trying to get all my shopping done and things organised for tomorrow - being Christmas and all...

Any way, my swap to Carol in the Mrs Martin's angel swap was sent and received as was mine from Carol and boy oh boy did she spoil me.

It was all just so beautiful and I was blown away that Carol had gone to so much trouble for me.  She did very kindly put in some lollies for the kids but surprisingly they did not make it into the photo shoot - shocking!

So these are the things I sent to Carol - I added some extra lollies for her grand kids - hope they enjoy them and I had to make a stocking for Carol's husband, Gus.

You can head over to Mrs. Martin's blog and have a look at all the wonderful things that have been sent out.

What a Pain in the...

FOOT!

This morning after my shower as I was racing around to get ready for work I accidentally (because nobody in their right mind would do this on purpose) walked into the end of my bed with my right foot, or more exactly my little toe.

This photo was shortly after said incident - red and sore.  No shoes for me today - a thong day (which really is a no-no at school).

This is a few hours later as the bruising starts to some out.  My class thought I was very brave...my colleagues just laughed at my latest injury - I am a little unco.

Guess my baby bears will have to look after me for a change tonight, lol.

OASS for Maria

I signed up to be a part of the Once a Season Swap hosted by the amazing Cheryll and was given Maria as my partner.  So I set about making and gathering summery things for her.

I made her a flour sack tea towel with a blue floral trim - summery in my book.  I did read somewhere on a blog that flour sacks are more absorbent than standard tea towels - I'm hoping Maria will let me know, as I have not tried one yet.

I made her a table topper in a mix of soft summery pinks with my new Go Cutter dies - it was perfect to justify buying them as Maria so needed this table topper lol.

My little home made quilt label.

Body spray from Avon - strawberry and white chocolate and as I bought 2 I can honestly say is really does smell like strawberries and white chocolate.  Yummo!

Seed for the garden - Cosmos.

Smellies for the cupboards - you can't have too many of those I say!

And lastly a cupcake.  I'm glad it made the journey and the best part is that Maria won't have to feel guilty about this little beauty as it is a candle.  Just the cutest thing ever.
