Need advice

What would you do if you were me?

I placed an online order with a company on Christmas eve for 2 patterns and a complete B.O.M. kit - including patterns and fabric.  The patterns for this quilt cost $84 but the entire kit, which I ordered and paid for was $250 - that is a difference of $166.

When the order turned up it only had the 2 patterns plus the set of B.O.M patterns but no fabric.

I emailed the company immediately to ask what had happened to the fabric and was emailed back the next day (January 24th) being told it was a shipping error and that the fabric would be posted that day.

I emailed again on the 18th of March asking what had happened as the fabric had not arrived.

I read on the blog associated with the company that they had computer issues last week and only got 10 emails and to re-email if you had not had a response.

I emailed again, also including all of the emails I have sent and the one I have received.

This company is in America, it is owned and run by a very well known designer.

I have been waiting since December 24th 2012 for this fabric and now I am not getting any response from them.  So what do I do?  What would you do?  Do I have any recourse or is it a case of tough luck because it was an Internet sale and overseas?

I'm just feeling pretty flat about it and tired of being patient while waiting for a response...have I kissed my money goodbye?

To add to this I emailed again last night and no response.  I have this morning posted a message on the blog of this person - felt crappy about doing that but not sure what else to do.  Just feeling really frustrated and blown off by them...it's such a shame too as this is the first time I have ever had trouble with international shopping (and I buy a lot of stuff!!!) but I tell you, it has left a very unpleasant taste in my mouth.

  3. keep at it and don't give up. I agree with Shez about seeing what consumer affairs says. Is there any review sites that mention issues with this person? I do hope that they have a good reputation and will want to keep it and get everything sorted out or at least give you a refund.

  4. Hi, I agree with Katherine. I wouldn't give up,as you mentioned they were a well known designer. It is a lot of money but just give it another try. I buy on the internet with overseas quilt companies and I have found them to be very obliging and they are pretty fast to rectify any mistakes. I pray you are not one of the unlucky ones though. Good luck

  5. I just found your blog and am very sorry to hear what has happened to you. I would for sure not give up yet. If you paid with a credit card I would dispute the charges and maybe that will get some action. What a shame. Good luck. I have enjoyed browsing through your blog, great stuff.
