Another club

Of the Aurifil kind.

It's no secret that I have been using Aurifil threads for a long time.
I really like them.
I use others as well but there is just something about Aurifil.

So when I saw on Instagram that the lovely Sarah was
running a club - I was in.
I think I may have even cyber-stalked her a little about this.
See the level of my excitement?

The first installment has arrived, including the plastic storage box.
'Squee'

So each month now, Sarah is going to send me a bundle of
Italian goodness.  I think Aurifil has overtaken my love of
pasta and that's saying something!

Well I'm off to start at my threads,
enjoy your Saturday!

Happy

It's funny how sometimes the smallest things
can make you feel the happiest.

I had made my own tags and labels
a few years ago and had run out.

I knew in all reality I didn't have time to make them
again myself  and I knew this meant out-sourcing.

I found a company here in Australia that make to order.

They have arrived.

I couldn't be happier.
They are just what I wanted.
Plain and simple.

Now I just need time to use them.

Happy Friday everyone!

At my house

Lately there has been some of this;

Chain piecing HST...

Uncovering my fabric stash and playing with it.

Mini house manufacturing.

Some new arrivals.

And (shock horror gasp) I even cut into
this loveliness too.

More pics of what it became soon.

Better later...

My Christmas in July parcel was slow in arriving.
I put it down to the North Pole being such a long way from here.
(Or Australia Post taking their sweet time.)

Inside the box was this beautifully wrapped bundle -
I almost didn't want to open it all.

Each of the 3 gifts had the cutest little ornament attached.

I love red white and green together for Christmas.
A table mat and angel figurine.

2 hand towels - I love these
because the family can't walk off with them and dump them!

And a tree.

I think I scored rather well, wouldn't you say?
Thank you to my partner Narelle.
Thank you too to Cheryll for organising the swap.

July

I was kind of busy this month.

I packed.
We moved.
I unpacked.
I knitted.
I sewed.
I shopped.
I sent parcels.
I received parcels.
And in amongst all that, someone ate their first apple without it being cut up
since all those baby teeth were removed and still haven't been replaced by the supposed
adult teeth that were bursting through...could have left them in there a bit longer.  This sounds simple, but by no means was a small thing for him - or me, it was kind of HUGE!

So, July - you were really busy...
August, please slow down a little.

One room

There is one room that is organised and one that I'm prepared to share for now.

Our family room.
I was standing at the kitchen bench when I took this photo.

More photos soon.

We're in!

Yep, we're in our new house.
Only taken what feels like an eternity.

Happy kids.

Still unpacking some things and waiting on
shelving for my craft room.

It looked like this the day we moved in.

And then last weekend it looked like this.

It's still not much better, but at least I can find
some fabrics...
Anyone want to come for a visit and help?
You could leave with a bundle of fabric - I'd never know!

Christmas in July

This is a swap I did last year and enjoyed it so much
that I came back again this year.

I was given Peg to make for.

First up is a wall hanging of the Nativity.
It's a Jan Patek pattern called
Christmas 101.

A little wall hanging with holly.

An apron for when Peg does her kitchen thing...
me personally I don't do much in the kitchen - just ask my kids!

A Santa wall hanging.

A Rudolph for the tree.

Another decoration for the tree,
this time a wreath.

Sideways chocolates, just because.

All carefully wrapped by my daughter and then shoved in
an express post bag by the lady at the post office because
I wasn't sure if it would fit - so she kindly made it fit.

Peg if things were a little scrunched - I apologise.

Ah...now when is the real Christmas?

Swaps

A friend of mine asked me to join a swap she was organising and I did.
We are to swap 4 different items over the year.
We've just completed our second swap, which was
"Tilda".

I was lucky to receive gifts from Christine and they were perfect!

Thank you Christine.
(sorry should have rotated the picture first)

I was to send to Cheryl.  I have never met Cheryl so this made the task a little tricky.
Plus we were in the process of moving house, so most of my sewing supplies were in boxes.

I made a pouch with a Tilda illustration that I stitched on the front.

I used Tilda fabric for the back.

A scissors keeper/pin cushion combo and stork scissors.
Again using Tilda fabric.

A hoop holder and small needle case,
again using Tilda fabric.

A flour sack tea towel that I embellished with a strip of Tilda.
These are great for drying dishes.

It all fits inside the pouch.

All wrapped up and ready to go.
There was also a box of chocolates that almost didn't make the trip.

A fun swap enjoyed by all, I think.
